Stolt Wardrobe
A wardrobe for the moment you choose who you want to be today. The Stolt Wardrobe combines fluted birch doors with a sculptural arched crown, hiding a hanging rail, shelves and a drawer behind a striking silhouette. Its name, STOLT, means proud in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish.
STOLT means proud in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish: that quiet confidence we feel when what we wear truly reflects who we are. Every morning begins with a small ritual. We open the doors, look at what we have, and choose the piece that makes us stand a little taller and step into the day with intention. The Stolt Wardrobe was designed to honour that moment. Its tall, upright form is crowned by an arch of curved slats, like a head held high, while the fluted birch doors open to reveal everything needed to dress with care. A functional piece shaped by the Nordic belief that feeling good in our own skin is the best way to start any day. Pairs perfectly with the Terskel Bench, completing a bedroom made for unhurried mornings.
In the heart of Milan, the guest rooms of this luxury boutique hotel were conceived and furnished entirely by Længsel, every piece designed by our studio. Tonal restraint sets the mood, warm plaster, soft oak and a palette of ochre and charcoal, a calm counterpoint to the city beyond. At its heart stands the Stolt Wardrobe (“proud” in the Nordic languages): an arched, oval silhouette of rhythmic slats, light birch against a blackened frame on slender steel. By the window, the Terskel Bench (“threshold” in Danish) echoes the same language, while the bespoke bed, nightstands, mirror and pendant light complete a room conceived as one. Crafted in sustainable birch, it is a true Nordic retreat in the heart of Milan.
