UNELMA means dream in Finnish: the quiet world we drift into every night and the place where our best ideas often begin. The bedside table is the piece we reach for last before we fall asleep, and first when we wake. It holds the book we did not finish, the glass of water, the light we switch off to let the day go. The Unelma Bedside Table was designed to keep watch over that moment. Its alternating light and dark stripes follow the gentle rhythm of day turning into night, while the open slatted shelf lets light and air flow through the piece, and the drawer front, upholstered in eco-friendly Kvadrat fabric, adds a soft touch of warmth within reach. A functional piece shaped by the Nordic belief that good rest is the foundation of a good life. Pairs perfectly with the Stolt Wardrobe and the Terskel Bench, completing a bedroom made for unhurried nights and slow mornings.
In the heart of Gerês, among pine forests and granite mountains, this private house opens onto the woodland. The bedroom was conceived as a serene retreat, where raw materiality, exposed concrete, a deep forest green, dark timber, meets the comfort of a space made for rest. There, the Unelma Bedside Tables find their place; their name is the Finnish word for dream. Længsel’s signature rhythmic birch slats, with drawers in a warm ochre on a slender black steel base. Nordic serenity and the Portuguese landscape under the same light, a true retreat for dreaming.
